Project description:

The client is transitioning IT Infrastructure, Applications and Services from an Onprem data centre hosting environment to Microsoft Azure Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) as part of a broader Cloud Digital Transformation Program. The client is looking to move away from their current IT Operating Model to a new Cloud Operating Model Framework to support the digital journey.


Produce a Cloud Operating Model Framework which includes:

o Operating Model Redesign
o Roles & Responsibilities Definition
o Business Interaction Model
o Current State Competency Assessment
o Cloud Services Transition
o Cloud Training/ Recruitment Needs
o Governance & KPIs
o Security and Compliance
o Cloud Adoption
o Cloud Platform (Architecture and Cloud Service Delivery)
o Cloud Operations

This consulting opportunity is to support the Cloud Digital Transformation Program Manager, by leading the design of the Cloud Operating Model workstream covering:

  • Developing design principles
  • Mapping the target customer journeys
  • Defining the capabilities required
  • Articulating the changes needed
  • Managing the implementation of the new cloud operating model across IT and business

Technical skills:

  • Over 5 years of experience working in complex enterprise environments delivering IT operating model design and implementation with Cloud experience.

  • Sound knowledge of; architecture, IT and Business innovation, organisational change management, IT governance, IT process and compliance, Agile methodologies, IT frameworks e.g., ITSM, ITIL, TOGAF, and COBIT.

  • Experience in establishing new ways of thinking about IT infrastructure, automation, and software development.

  • Experience working on strategies, transformation roadmaps, operating models, business cases to help with the cloud adoption journey.

  • Understanding of cloud technologies and vendors and a keen interest in cloud providers' emerging cloud services.

  • Demonstrable ability to manage and deliver the design and development of new operating models, execution of implementation plans, system tests, change management and change readiness.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of project life cycles, including understanding of process modelling and controls, organisational design.

  • Performing a full analysis of current capabilities across teams and outsourced services to feed into the optimised and effective future operating model.

  • To work with the IT and business operations leads to identify and produce detailed End-state (and where necessary Interim) Capability to task level workflows and diagrams (capturing both human and systems interactions and interfaces).

  • To produce detailed As-is to To-be documentation - clearly mapping and articulating the changes required across Tasks, Roles, Skills and Structure.

  • Impact analysis on changing business processes and structures helps highlight the severity or nature of the change to the operations.

  • Identify and manage risks across the change.

  • Excellent negotiating and project management skills.

  • Strategic thinking and decisiveness.

  • Relationship building and stakeholder management.

  • Language requirements; excellent command of English (both written and oral).
